Role Overview:
We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Systems Administrator with a product-focused mindset to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and optimizing the system infrastructure of a critical product we are developing for the federal government. You will ensure the product’s system environment is robust, secure, and performs optimally while supporting its lifecycle from development through deployment and ongoing maintenance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Product Systems Management: Serve as the Senior Systems Administrator for a key product designed for the NTIA, ensuring its system infrastructure is designed, implemented, and maintained effectively.
  • System Architecture and Design: Collaborate with product developers and engineers to design and implement system architecture that supports the product’s requirements and scalability.
  • System Administration: Oversee the configuration, management, and optimization of the product’s server environments, including hardware, software, and network components.
  • Security and Compliance: Ensure that the system adheres to federal security and compliance standards, including implementing and monitoring security measures to protect sensitive data.
  • Performance Monitoring: Continuously monitor system performance and availability, troubleshoot and resolve issues, and apply updates and patches as necessary to ensure optimal performance.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Develop and maintain comprehensive system documentation, including configurations, procedures, and performance reports.
  • Support and Maintenance: Provide support for system-related issues, including troubleshooting and resolving technical problems, and conducting regular maintenance tasks.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, project managers, and federal stakeholders, to align system requirements with product goals and ensure successful deployment and integration.
Qualifications:
  • Extensive experience as a Systems Administrator, with a strong focus on managing complex systems, data, and infrastructure.
  • Proven experience in system design, implementation, and administration, particularly in a product development context.
  • Knowledge of federal security and compliance requirements, especially in relation to NTIA or similar federal projects.
  • Strong skills in troubleshooting, performance monitoring, and system optimization.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with technical teams and stakeholders.
  • Experience with virtualization, cloud computing, and network management.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field; relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA, Microsoft, AWS) are a plus.
